This data science hackathon is organized in collaboration with Optiver and attracts over 200 participants. Students tackle real-world problems in algorithmic trading, working in teams to develop innovative solutions.

After having held this conference in the most prestigious universities, Bloomberg honored us with its presence on the campus of the EPFL to discuss the ultra domination of algorithms in the world of finance. Moderated by Joel Bjornson, financial software developer at Bloomberg (London), the conference was followed by an aperitif during which the students were able to talk to the various representatives of Bloomberg.
With nearly 337,000 subscribers, Heu?reka is a famous Youtuber who aims to popularize finance and the economy through his videos. To the delight of the students, Heu?reka honoured us with giving a lecture at EPFL, with the theme “Speculative Investment” . It is a unique opportunity for the association to present finance in a completely different way, with dynamism and simplicity.
Organized since 2016 in partnership with EPFL Alumni, the FAM is an event during which students have the opportunity to meet EPFL Alumni working in the financial industry. The diversity and expertise of the stakeholders allowed the presentation of various areas of finance.
Since 2016, the Trading Game organized in partnership with the Finance Club HEC, is our main event. The largest student trading competition in Switzerland, it is a unique event that brings together more than 1,000 participants from different Swiss universities each year.
Our partner Bloomberg made us take advantage of its Foreign Exchange market platform through which participants, in a team of 3-4, coded a trading bot. To do this, they had 2 hours followed by a test period of 30 minutes. The team having made the most money over this period won a prize.
